This rare, well maintained outboard is owned and cared for by Charles Palfreeman. Notice the 'T' at the end of the serial number. Charles points out that this indicated it was equipped with a tilting tiller which became standard on later forties. The owner pointed out that the top half of this outboard (power head & crack case) is a 40 Featherweight and the lower half (drive shaft & lower unit) is a 40 Plus. Also, the original steel tank was replaced with a brass tank.
